April spent last week art directing the cover shot for Cicada's new publication 'State of Craft'. The cover featureds all objects from inside and wraps around the flaps and back of the book.

State of Craft will give you the courage to break away from the high street and into your toolbox. It includes over 60 stylish and inspiring projects from talented designer-makers, including Tatty Devine, Urban Cross Stitch, Prick Your Finger and DIY Couture. Clearly explained, step-by-step ideas range from pompom necklaces and cross-stitched tote bags to jam-jar lamps and old-jumper pouffes. Interviews with key makers illuminate the rising significance of craft, and how it has evolved. A how-to section provides tutorials of basic crafting skills such as knitting, crochet and embroidery.
